Doctoral Program Design
(1) Brief introduction
At the end of 2021, the School was granted the right to offer doctoral degree in the discipline of "Management Science and Engineering", focusing on engineering practical issues such as intelligent decision-making, systems engineering and logistics supply chain. The program aims to cultivate high-level talents in the field of compound management science and engineering with solid professional foundation, strong sense of innovation, wide application and high overall quality, based on the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area in China and areas outside of China.
The discipline has established five distinctive, fruitful, well-structured research directions: intelligent optimization and decision-making, management systems and engineering, supply chain and logistics engineering, internet and information management, and Fintech and Service engineering.
The duration of study for doctoral students is 3 years, and the maximum length is 5 years. For those who are directly enrolled as doctoral students after graduation from bachelor programs (hereinafter referred to as direct doctoral students), the duration of study is 5 years, less than 7 years at most.
(2) Curriculum design and credit requirements
The doctoral program of Management Science and Engineering provides 19 courses including 2 open required, 7 major required, 5 major electives and 2 other required courses. (see Table 1)

Note: But what’s important and fundamental for doctoral students is that academic research and social practical activities also play critical role in the whole process of the program. Therefore, a lot of academic, social work and activities are interspersed in the above 3 phrases.
