The 5th Academic Conference on Intelligent Manufacturing System Engineering was successfully held in Shenzhen

From November 19th to 20th, 2022, the "Fifth Academic Conference on Intelligent Manufacturing System Engineering" hosted by the Intelligent Manufacturing System Engineering Professional Committee of the Chinese Society of Systems Engineering and undertaken by the College of Management of Shenzhen University was successfully held in Shenzhen. The theme of this conference is "Digital Intelligence Innovation Leading Manufacturing". Academician Mao Junfa (president of Shenzhen University) researcher Yang Xiaoguang (chairman of the Chinese Society of Systems Engineering), professor Liu Xinbao (director of the Intelligent Manufacturing System Engineering Committee) and Dr. Zhou Zhimin (deputy dean of the College of Management) delivered a speech. Academician Yang Shanlin and Academician Chen Xiaohong of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and researcher Liu Zuoyi, deputy director of the Management Science Department of the National Science Foundation, made an online special report. Academician Xie Heping, Academician Guo Renzhong, Academician Ding Wenhua, Academician Chen Xiangsheng of the Chinese Academy of Candidates for the top talent plan participated in and supported this conference through a combination of online and offline methods. The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Professor Li Li from the College of Management of Shenzhen University, and the special report was hosted by Professor Niu Ben, the deputy dean of the College of Management.

Director Liu Xinbao pointed out that the Chinese Society of Systems Engineering established the Intelligent Manufacturing System Engineering Professional Committee in 2018. Since its establishment, it had been committed to the research of theoretical methods and key technologies in the field of manufacturing intelligent systems. The Intelligent Manufacturing System Engineering Academic Conference was initiated by Academician Yang Shanlin, and had been successfully held four times so far. The theme of this conference was "Digital Intelligence Innovation· Leading Manufacturing", aiming to create a convenient and efficient platform for academic exchanges. The meeting allowed to discuss the frontier issues and development directions of system engineering theory and application under the digital intelligence ecosystem, and to empower large-scale manufacturing enterprises and the "Specialized and New" small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises' intelligent manufacturing and ecological upgrading.

The meeting was live broadcast online and offline synchronously and the cumulative number of online views exceeded 41,800. In addition to three invited reports, there were 12 seminars included, i.e. "Smart Manufacturing Operations Management", "Smart Logistics and Supply Chain Management", "Smart Scheduling Theory and Methods", "Big Data and Artificial Intelligence", "Intelligent Factory and Process Optimization", "Great Bay Area Intelligent Manufacturing Frontier Forum + Specialized and New Enterprise Practice Forum", "Digital Manufacturing Decision-Making", "Medical Equipment Manufacturing and Operation Management" and "Journal Forum", etc.

It was particularly worth noting that this academic conference on intelligent manufacturing system engineering showed the most cutting-edge and leading artificial intelligence technology. UV disinfection and sterilization robots offered by UBTECH not only provided safety guarantee for the participants but also allowed the participating experts and scholars to deeply experience the convenience, safety and smart life brought by intelligent manufacturing.

At last, Professor Zhou Zhimin hosted the closing ceremony. 37 high-quality meeting proceedings from more than 100 excellent proceedings were selected by the Intelligent Manufacturing System Engineering Committee of the Chinese Society of Systems Engineering. The director, Professor Liu Xinbao of Hefei University of Technology, Professor Li Li and Professor Niu Ben of the College of Management of Shenzhen University issued certificates to the award-winning authors.
