On December 22nd, 2021, Secretary HE Jun and alumni from the College of Management visited Guangdong Tianan New Material Co., Ltd., a company owned by alumnus WU Qichao from the class of '85, with the stock code of 603725, in Foshan.
WU Qichao, the assistant to the chairman, WU Tianrui, and with the team accompanied throughout the visit. The visiting delegation first arrived at Tianan Integration, a design company under the group, which showed the delegation the meticulous research of the design and development team on user needs and product development, as well as the understanding of the needs of consumers of different ages. Through the showroom tour, WU Qichao introduced his years of research on Japanese industrial design, which resulted in the development of an environmentally friendly film for home decoration materials that does not require glue and achieves almost zero harmful volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as formaldehyde, truly creating a healthy and eco-friendly living environment.
In the process development showroom, the delegation also visited the standardized process for all home decoration work, which not only introduced product technology, but also allowed the home decoration masters to easily learn the standardized installation process, with clear guidance on the use of every installation tool. WU Qichao said that this was learned from the standardization and lean production methods of the Japanese automobile industry.
During the visit, alumnus WU Qichao personally introduced the company's original intention, development history, company's mission and current business direction to Secretary HE Jun and others. "Enhancing the dimension to make automobile interior decoration, and reducing the dimension to make home decoration materials", alumnus WU Qichao has constantly broken through himself and challenged the limit in the process of business operation, which made a group of alumni admire his forward-looking industrial layout and business thinking.
Since its establishment in 2000, Tianan New Materials has carried out three major strategic transformations, among which the most difficult and the longest time is the transformation to the field of automotive interiors. From 2010 to 2014, it can be said to be the darkest period for Tianan New Materials. With the continuous increase in R&D investment, there has been almost no harvest in the past four years, and the performance has continued to decline, and reached a record low in September 2014. Many corporate executives and shareholders expressed incomprehension of the transformation, and even raised doubts and objections. Some people withdrew their shares, and some PE (private equity investment) withdrew their capital. People inside and outside the company were panicked for a while.
However, in the case of unsatisfactory performance, alumnus WU Qichao led the Tianan New Materials team to spare no effort in technology research and development and market development, investing heavily in research and development every year. Finally, in 2013, we successfully obtained the order of Nissan Teana, which is also the first order of Tianan New Materials in the field of automotive interiors. The appearance of the brand of Tianan New Materials in Japanese automobiles represents the recognition of the independent technology of national brands.

In recent years, Tianan New Materials has expanded its business in the field of environmentally friendly prefabricated interior decoration, and is committed to providing customers with one-stop home decoration services. At the beginning of 2021, Tianan New Materials (stock code 603725) acquired 66% of the shares of the four subsidiaries of Eagle Brand Group, which is of great significance for Tianan New Materials to lay out the home improvement track in the future.

Eagle Ceramics is a well-known trademark in the domestic ceramic industry, with a history of 46 years, and has established more than 1,000 terminal stores across the country. After this acquisition, Tianan New Materials and Yingpai Ceramics will form a better synergistic effect in the terminal, realize mutual empowerment, and further promote the industrial layout of the two brands in the pan-furniture field.
This exchange not only contributed to a deeper understanding of the college and alumni companies, but also allowed the alumni to see the power of persistent learning from WU Qichao, an alumnus of the 1985 class. He believes that entrepreneurs must study, keep learning, and listen to professional knowledge. Views. Alumnus WU Qichao is very grateful for the experience of studying in the College of Management of Shenzhen University. He said, "The background in management has enabled me to cover everything in the process of running a business. I can talk about art and technology and the learning experience has almost given me comprehensive development." He hopes that the in the future, the Alumni Association of College of Management is a "never-ending alumni learning platform".
