On March 25th, the 399th Session of 400 Academic Activities for the 40th Anniversary Celebration of Shenzhen University was successfully held online. The lecture was delivered by Professor ZHOU Nan. The theme of this lecture was Three Realms of MBA: Influence, Cohesion, and Vitality. Professor HE Heping, the director of the MBA Center presided over the meeting, with over 180 participants online.
Professor ZhOU Nan is the first Changjiang Scholar in the field of Enterprise Management. He had previously served as a professor at City University of Hong Kong and was also a distinguished professor at Shenzhen University.
At the beginning of the lecture, Professor Zhou Nan compared McDonald's with Chinese restaurants and analyzed the marketing differences between them in terms of food quantity, product production, and ingredient management. Also, Professor Zhou Nan systematically answered the questions of "What is an MBA? How to read it? Why to read it?" and "How to market, create, and live a successful life" for individuals and businesses, based on his personal youth's education experience and years of insights in the United States. He hoped that the marketing theories he learned in the US can be used to help China's development.
In terms of enterprise management, Professor Zhou said that the closer you are to customers, the more you understand them, and the more you meet their needs, the easier it is for the enterprise to succeed. Therefore, in order to win in the market competition, it was necessary to understand customers. Professor Zhou pointed out that for customers, it was important to strive to establish and maintain long-term friendships. For competitors, "competition and harmony" were more important than competition.
After the lecture, Professor Zhou exchanged ideas with the attending teachers and students. The participants raised questions from various aspects such as the future development of MBA values, the meaning of "simplicity", and the economic relationship between China and the United States. Professor Zhou enthusiastically answered the questions and had in-depth discussions with the participants.
