Speaker's Biography

Prof. Zhao Shuming is a Distinguished Professor in the Humanities and Social Sciences at Nanjing University, Honorary Dean of the Business School, Dean of Xingzhi College, Doctoral Supervisor, and Academic Leader of the National Key Discipline in Business Administration at Nanjing University. He serves as the Deputy Director of the Education Guidance Committee for Business Administration Disciplines under the Ministry of Education, Vice President of the China Modernization Research Association, Special Vice President of the China Human Resources Development Association, and Lifetime Honorary Chairman of the Jiangsu Human Resources Society.

Professor Zhao Shuming has published over 20 academic works and more than 500 papers. His book "Research on Human Resource Management" won the 13th China National Book Award and the "Fourth China University Humanities and Social Sciences Research Excellent Achievement" first prize from the Ministry of Education. "Human Resource Management and Development" won the first prize for outstanding textbooks from the Ministry of Education. "Research on the Professional Competence of Managers in China" won the first prize for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences in Jiangsu Province. The project "Indigenous Training Model for Human Resource Management Talents Based on Competency Theory" won the first prize for teaching achievements in Jiangsu Province. "Knowledge Map and Prospects of Human Resource Management Research in China under the Context of 70 Years of New China" won the first prize for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences in Jiangsu Province. He was awarded an honorary doctorate in business administration by Seton Hill University in the United States, received the highest special award from the President of the University of Missouri, the Fudan Management Science Outstanding Contribution Award, and was recognized as a Jiangsu Social Science Master by the Communist Party of China Jiangsu Provincial Committee and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province.
