October 23, 2024 Published

On the morning of October 18th, the Marketing Department's Teacher Party Branch organized the "20+8" industry visit to Shenzhen New Energy Industry Association. The event was led by He Jun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Management, and attracted faculty, students, and alumni from the College of Management, College of Materials, College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, and other colleges. Over thirty participants actively engaged in the visit.

At the beginning of the event, Sun Siyuan, Secretary-General of Shenzhen New Energy Industry Association (SZNEA), provided a detailed account of the association's development in recent years to the Shenzhen University faculty and students. Secretary-General Sun introduced SZNEA as an industry group spontaneously formed by enterprises committed to new energy technology research, application, and manufacturing of new energy products. Its business scope is extensive, including solar, wind, hydropower, biomass, nuclear, hydrogen, new energy vehicles, energy storage, smart grids, and energy consulting. The association has made significant contributions to promoting the upgrade of Shenzhen's new energy industry and strengthening exchanges and cooperation within and outside the industry. Secretary-General Sun's presentation provided the visiting faculty and students with an in-depth understanding of the association and the new energy industry it represents.

Zhang Yalong, Executive Dean of Shenzhen Sustainable Development Research Institute, delivered a keynote speech titled "Perspectives on New Energy in Sustainable Development at Different Spatial Scales." Dean Zhang, in conjunction with the United Nations' 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development established in 2015, analyzed the challenges and opportunities faced by mega-cities in achieving comprehensive, coordinated, and sustainable economic, social, and environmental development. He emphasized that the institute is committed to addressing key ecological and environmental bottlenecks that limit the sustainable development of mega-cities, collaborating with international organizations, expert networks, renowned universities, and research institutions at home and abroad to provide international think-tank support for Shenzhen's construction as a national sustainable development agenda innovation demonstration zone. Dean Zhang's professional and engaging presentation deepened the visiting faculty and students' understanding of the development of the new energy industry.

Subsequently, Mr. Zhou Xiaoliang from Shenzhen Qinglan provided a brief introduction to Lan Space in Shenzhen. Relying on the resources of Suzhou Qinglan Group headquarters, the organization integrates industry association platforms and other advantageous resources to provide growing and medium-sized enterprises with industrial development resource docking, market resources, financing services, and incubation space for outstanding startups and teams.

During the interactive exchange session, Shenzhen University faculty and students actively participated, expressing their views and raising questions about the future development, technological innovation, and policy support of the new energy industry. Secretary-General Sun Siyuan and Dean Zhang Yalong patiently answered the questions from the faculty and students, creating a lively and active atmosphere.

He Jun, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College, summarized the event. He stated that with the continuous growth of Shenzhen's new energy industry, the joint cultivation of talents in business, management, and other fields is equally crucial, in addition to the technical field. Against the backdrop of the rapid development of the new energy industry, actively exploring how students from the College of Management can participate in the process of transforming technological achievements into industrial applications is of profound significance. He expects to deepen cooperation and exchanges with Shenzhen New Energy Industry Association to jointly promote the development of Shenzhen's new energy industry.

Finally, led by Secretary-General Sun, the faculty and students from Shenzhen University visited the association's exhibition of various types of photovoltaic products, gaining a more intuitive understanding of the latest achievements in new energy technology.

This event not only deepened the understanding of the new energy industry among Shenzhen University faculty and students but also promoted exchanges and cooperation between the university and enterprises. It is anticipated that the College of Management at Shenzhen University and Shenzhen New Energy Industry Association will further strengthen their ties in the future, jointly promote the development of the new energy industry through industry-university-research cooperation, and create more opportunities and a better future together.
