On 27 March, 2026, Professor Chen Jihong, Distinguished Professor at the College of Management, Dean of Shenzhen International Maritime Institute, and Editor-in-Chief of "Ocean & Coastal Management", delivered a keynote speech and shared professional insights at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2026, held in Boao, Hainan from March 24 to 27, 2026.

As the 25th edition of the flagship annual event, this year’s forum adopted the theme “Shaping a Shared Future: New Situations, New Opportunities, New Cooperation”. Professor Chen took part in the plenary sessions and the special Blue Economy Forum, exchanging in-depth views on frontier issues concerning global maritime undertakings and high-quality development of the blue economy.

At the Blue Economy Forum held on the afternoon of March 26, professor Chen elaborated on joint efforts to maintain sound global maritime order and guarantee international shipping strategic security, highlighting China’s active role in participating in global maritime governance and firm stance in safeguarding core shipping-related interests. The event gathered more than 1,600 government officials, industrial elites, think-tank scholars and media practitioners from over 60 countries and regions.After the forum, Professor Chen received exclusive interviews with Xinhua News Agency, CCTV, China News Service and other mainstream domestic and overseas media, further interpreting trends and development paths for the global blue economy. Amid evolving global landscapes, maritime research has become a vital field for international exchanges and strategic layout. For a long time, Professor Chen and her research team based in the College of Management and Shenzhen International Maritime Institute have devoted themselves to in-depth maritime academic research. They have been frequently commissioned to compile relevant national strategic research reports and policy suggestions, providing solid intellectual support for national maritime layout and strategic decision-making.
