On November 18, 2025, the strategic cooperation signing ceremony between the People's Government of Yantian District, Shenzhen, Shenzhen University (SZU) and China Shipowners' Association was held at Yantian District Government Administrative Center. The cooperation aims to respond to national strategic needs, address the complex international situation, strengthen ties with Shenzhen International Maritime Research Institute, and contribute to China's maritime and shipping power strategies, national maritime rights protection and global maritime governance participation.

Key leaders and guests attended the ceremony, including representatives from Yantian District Government, Shenzhen University (SZU) – such as the university president and CAS academician,Dean of the School of Management, also attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, the Executive Deputy District Mayor of Yantian District, the Executive Vice President of China Shipowners' Association and Chen Jihong, Dean of Shenzhen International Maritime Research Institute, also one professor from our college, respectively introduced Yantian's shipping industry layout, the association's role in national strategies and the institute's construction achievements. Witnessed by five leaders from the three parties, the representatives of Yantian District Government, SZU and China Shipowners' Association signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides.

Against the backdrop of accelerating global changes and intricate international situation, the international maritime field has become a key competition battlefield. In recent years, the expert team of Shenzhen International Maritime Research Institute, in close cooperation with China Shipowners' Association, has participated in drafting national response plans, promoted the implementation of relevant measures, and made positive contributions to party and state decision-making and national maritime rights protection.
