SZUCM business and management majors are required to complete 39 general education credits. General education courses that enrich and broaden students’ learning experiences mainly include: university computer, history, philosophy etc. Major core courses, ranging from 50-55 credits, develop skills in all functional areas of business and management, and include lower division core (studied by freshman and sophomore students) and upper division core (studied by junior and senior students). Major elective courses, ranging from 30-37 credits, allow students to enhance their employability prospects in their preferred fields. General education courses and lower division core courses aim at general skills areas, upper division core courses and electives address business and management knowledge and technology agility areas.

Practice courses include military training, social practices/international exchange, specialized practice, and dissertation thesis/design, while students choose featured courses basing on their interests. Practical teaching and graduation thesis play an important role in bachelor courses. All bachelor students are required to complete at least one month of specialized practice under the guidance of mentors in the summer vacation after the second semester of their junior year and submit a qualified specialized practice report. From mid-term of the senior year, students need to prepare for their graduation thesis. The whole process includes the following processes: thesis selection, receive mentor’s assignment, thesis proposal, literature reading and investigation and research, thesis writing, thesis modification and thesis defense. Students are qualified to graduate unless they go through all processes. For the thesis of the bachelor degree students, the project has formulated clear norms and requirements, including content structure, format, literature, word number, the percentage of plagiarism etc. Students should defend their thesis in front of the defense team.
